Designing physical activity programmes for older adults
The VTCT Level 3 Award in Designing Physical Activity Programmes for Older Adults is a specialist vocational qualification focused on developing the knowledge, understanding and skills needed for working with this specialist population. Throughout this qualification you will develop an in-depth understanding of the physical, physiological and biomechanical changes that occur with ageing and the impact these factors can have on individuals. You will explore the benefits of, and barriers to physical activity and the importance of nutrition, hydration and fluid replacement. You will develop your communication and screening skills and those required to design and adapt programmes to meet the specific needs of older adults.
